January 2016. 3314 W. 63rd St., Chicago. Marquette Photo Supply opened in November 1944. Owner Joe Herbert sold and repaired photo equipment and processed film. His father and brother operated the barbershop next door. The family lived in an apartment behind the store. For decades, Mr. Herbert supplied equipment to photography students at many high schools, including nearby all-girls Mother McAuley. October 2015. October 2015. St Cornelius Church, 5430 W. Foster Ave, in Chicago when it was still an active parish church. Built in 1964, it closed in 2020 for lack of mass attendance and was desacralized in 2021. In 2024 the church building was sold to be redeveloped as a funky 1960’s style club and pickleball court. The site redevelopment will include parking and an event space with stage for pinball games, beverage lounge, and record spinning area.
